HOW WE HELP

Three ways we work with you

Support for a significant moment, a defined project or the work that continues every day.

CONVENE

Impact Events & Convenings

Bring people together for learning events, programme launches, grantee convenings and milestone events, with digital and knowledge-led support from planning to follow-through.

We support registration, communications and participant engagement, then capture the insights and reflections generated along the way. These become post-event synthesis and useful learning products that extend the value of your gathering.

EXECUTE

Purpose-Driven Projects

Move a defined piece of work forward with a focused project that helps you create, strengthen or understand important Mission Assets.

We work on evaluations, Theory of Change and MERL frameworks, research and learning reviews, and knowledge products. Where needed, we also develop dashboards, knowledge repositories, digital tools, and grant-making and reporting systems.

STRENGTHEN

Mission Asset Management

Strengthen how your organisation manages and uses its data, knowledge and digital tools through ongoing, retainer-based support.

We work alongside your team against agreed objectives and key results. Together, we improve data flows, strengthen systems, organise knowledge and develop learning products so that your Mission Assets actively support decisions, accountability and learning.

ENABLED BY ACTION WEAVER

Digital tools built around the work

Action Weaver is Digital Inventions' flexible digital platform for turning participation, knowledge and data into coordinated action.

It connects people before, during and after programmes, projects and events, capturing insights, evidence, decisions and learning as they happen.

From interactive events and communities of practice to programme delivery, surveys, knowledge sharing and impact tracking, Action Weaver helps organisations build a living record of their work rather than leaving valuable knowledge scattered across spreadsheets, inboxes and individual teams.

The platform can be configured around each organisation's needs, helping teams strengthen their Mission Assets while keeping people, purpose, knowledge and data connected.

OUR WORK

Built for Mission-Driven Organisations

Led by David Jacobs, Digital Inventions brings two decades of experience in ICT, monitoring and evaluation, and nonprofit leadership to its work with mission-driven organisations. Specialist associates and partners contribute additional expertise where needed. We work with organisations across civil society, philanthropy and the public sector, including:

  • Nonprofit organisations
  • Foundations and trusts
  • Grant-making organisations
  • Faith-based organisations
  • Government
  • Public-Private Partnerships

Our work spans convenings, focused projects and ongoing support. The assignments below illustrate these three ways of working with organisations.

IMPACT EVENT

VVOB education for development

DBE Teacher Development Colloquium 2026

The inaugural DBE Teacher Development Colloquium 2026 was a national three-day convening of stakeholders across South Africa’s teacher development sector, led by the Department of Basic Education (DBE) in collaboration with VVOB Education for Development.

Digital Inventions combined event technology, live knowledge capture and structured synthesis to ensure that insights from the Colloquium were not lost when the event ended. A purpose-built digital platform supported participation, questions, reflections and evidence capture. An integrated knowledge management process is now turning contributions from plenaries and commissions into useful post-event knowledge products and an implementation-focused report, with delivery scheduled by 31 October 2026.

PURPOSE-DRIVEN PROJECT

Global Teachers Institute (GTI)

M&E Framework & FL!P Digital Portal

Digital Inventions has worked with the Global Teachers Institute (GTI) over several years to strengthen the design, monitoring and delivery of its Future Leaders Programme. The relationship began with the development of the programme’s Theory of Change and MERL framework, and later included a substantial review of these following GTI’s Department of Basic Education pilot.

To translate the framework into day-to-day programme management, Digital Inventions developed FL!P, a customised cloud-based platform that connects participant management, learning activities, evidence collection and reporting. The system gives GTI near real-time visibility of programme implementation and key indicators, while reducing the reliance on disconnected spreadsheets and manual processes.

MISSION ASSET MANAGEMENT

More than a Teacher (MTAT)

Ongoing Monthly Retainer

Digital Inventions provides More Than a Teacher (MTAT) with ongoing MERL support through a monthly retainer covering its More Than a Teacher and More Than a Coach (MTAC) programmes. A customised version of FL!P supports recruitment, learning event tracking, intern activity monitoring and mentor feedback, giving the organisation a more connected view of programme delivery and participant progress.

The work also supports MTAT’s implementation of the Youth Employment Service (YES) programme, including tracking intern participation, workplace activity and progression against programme requirements.
